.NET Domain Names

When the .NET generic domain was initially launched in 1985, along with the first domain name extensions on the web, it was intended to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure organizations. Given the fact that there were no specific conditions about the usage of the top-level domain extension, though, dot NET domains were taken and used for different purposes and by a great number of people. This TLD is an ideal substitution for .COM, notably if the wanted domain with the latter extension is not available for registration.

Acquiring a dot NET domain with our firm is as easy as pie and takes barely a couple of minutes, considering that we are partners with an ICANN-accredited registrar. You can get such a domain for a period between one and ten years, or, if you already own a domain, you can transfer it to our firm and we will renew it once the transfer process is done. Transfers are possible for all domains, which are at least 60 days old, provided that they are unlocked and that you have acquired an EPP transfer authorization code – security measures introduced by the Registry to prevent unauthorized transfers. You can easily edit the WHOIS information of the domain through your Control Panel interface, or, if you don’t want this info to be visible at all, you can buy a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to get your actual contact information.

The dot NET top-level extension supports internationalized names, so you can choose if you want to aim at a certain country or territory using a domain name in the regional language, or the global online community – using a generic English name.
